Everyone needs virus software. The challenge is finding software that will keep your computer safe but not slow it down. Price is always a consideration.there are many review site that will give you the top 10 programs. I have found some of the most popular not to work very well. I have found McAfee has never been very effective. It always seems to rate high. I am not sure why. Nortan has historically slowed computers down. I have also found it to interfere with usage. It will stop the user from doing things it thinks is dangerous, but they are typical tasks. This then usually involves disabling part of the virus program. Here is a link to the PC Magazine review:

The one on this list that I have found to be most useful is Sophos Home. If you need it on only 3 computers it is free. It has been very successful for me and many users I have helped install this. It has not slowed my computer or stopped the normal functions. It has warned me of a bad site.
